THE MISSION
Christy Martin Promotions was founded in 2016 by Christy Martin — the most celebrated female boxer in American sports history — with a singular purpose: to deliver high-stakes, unmissable professional boxing to audiences who demand authenticity. Since its founding, CMP has produced more than 30 events across ten states, from Charlotte's storied fight venues to resort stages in California and Florida.
The company's philosophy mirrors its founder's: relentless, disciplined, and uncompromising in its commitment to competitive boxing. Every CMP card is built around real fighters with real stakes. There are no manufactured rivalries, no manufactured drama — just the sport at its most honest.
CMP is also a development engine. By signing promising regional talent and providing them with broadcast-ready exposure, Christy Martin Promotions is building the next generation of champions from the ground up — the same way Christy herself was built: fight by fight, round by round.

"The Coal Miner's Daughter"
Christy Martin is widely regarded as the most successful and prominent female boxer in the history of the United States. She is credited with legitimizing women's participation in professional boxing at a time when the sport's establishment did not yet recognize women as equals.
Her father's profession as a coal miner in the mountains of West Virginia inspired the nickname "The Coal Miner's Daughter" — a symbol of the unwavering determination and resilience she brought to every ring she entered. Martin made history as the first female boxer to sign with renowned promoter Don King, a milestone that opened doors for an entire generation of women in combat sports.
Martin's most celebrated performance — a bloody, brutal ten-round war with Deirdre Gogarty on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Frank Bruno in 1996 — was broadcast to millions on HBO and became the moment mainstream America discovered women's boxing. ESPN named it Fight of the Year. She was later inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in recognition of her transformational impact on the sport.
Today, as CEO of Christy Martin Promotions, she channels that same fighting spirit into building careers, staging events, and growing the sport she dedicated her life to. Her achievements and trailblazing spirit continue to inspire aspiring fighters and have left an indelible mark on boxing.
